NEW FILES BY MAFI
Here they are - new gadgets and new base files which give you new ranks for German, Austrian and Turkish. Big thanks to mafi for updating these files.
This is the link to Mafi site http://members.fortunecity.de/closecombat2/
Here are the files Gadgets0 Gadgets1 Basefiles
The patch has been produced by myself - Tim, (Graphics - UK), Diggin' Robat (Germany - Data and Sounds), and Jason (Data - USA). Also thanks to Emmanuel (French Army info and French voices) and to Fish (New Zealand) for extra graphics. Special thanks to all those who made the editing tools and of course to Atomic for the superb original.
You will need a full installation of Close Combat 2. The patch is not supported by Microsoft or Atomic and is used entirely at your own risk. It is not to be used for any profit making purposes.
Version 2 - new vehicle graphics and Turkish teams added. (Due to a few problems some of the vehicle turrets do not move and the Turkish teams speak German, have German names and French ranks - all unavoidable but I believe the new graphics and Turkish teams are a vast improvement)
Here it is :- The Great War Patch v2.0 (1.5MB). Download this file(PC) for instructions regarding the loading of the patch ( written by Jim Cobb - thanks), and this file for mac users by Damon, thanks!
The superb sounds file (12.8MB - PC only- sorry Mac users) created by Diggin' Robat is here! Listen to the whistle of shells, huge artillery bombardments and planes overhead. It even has new victory music! I can almost hear Wilfred Owen "What passing bells for those who die cattle.."
Here is the interface file (1.8MB). This is the background to the game and is designed to give a total WW1 flavour.
Here are two icons for you to use. Produced by the prolific Naked Foot
Battles pack (21.1KB) - a file of twenty three historically based battles for use with the patch. Operations and campaigns will be available once I have worked out how to edit them!
Battles2 A few more battles for the new maps.
Battles3 More scenarios produced by Commande. They are based on historical battles and very nice they are too!
Battles4 Even more battles from Commande - up to his usual standard.
cc2rsrc.dll Hidden file produced by Fish that changes some of the interface titles. It goes in the folder with the A Bridge Too Far exe file
Verdun Campaign - Not a proper campaign file as such but a series of actions in battlemaker linked together. Produced by Ming it is a nice set of interesting battles and well thought out.
This is my first attempt at an op. It is based on the Battle of Messines (8.60KB)in June 1917.
This is an actual campaign produced by Ming. Its based on the 1914 Allied counterattack and its excellent.I urge you all to try it and see if you can take Paris or throw back the dreaded Hun! Ming is awarded a Victoria Cross for being the first to tackle the impregnable campaign files. Download the Marne Campaign (80KB)
